Actually the english is more important now
Since from the China joined the WTO,many foreigners came to china for business,travelling,studying or etc,and the english is the most speaken language in the world,so its important to learn english.

As some advice, always search for meaning when you encounter some word or phrase which you not understand. It will takes time but eventually you will get better and better!
